Artinas grew up in a fairly rich environment. His parents Galedria and Alduran had a hard life as slaves in their younger years, but eventually made it out and worked for years to become well off merchants. They made sure to keep him and his sister Trianda out of slavery and attempted to give them every opportunity to have a better childhood then they themselves had as slaves. Artinas, being very free spirited and irresponsible, took for granted what his parents did for him and stopped going to his classes at the academy. His parents told him that if he thought he knew better about the world and didn’t want to continue his education then he would have to go out on his own in hopes he would realize that school was the best option for a better future.

Over the last few months Artinas has been living in the city, getting by just barely on what he had saved up through his childhood, partying and causing mischief with his friends Korrh and Xio around town. He was just about out of money and contemplating returning home and going back to school when the events of that faithful day took place in the middle of the town. Now with the promise of rewards and adventure, it seems that Artinas has found what he was looking for, a way to get by without having to go back to his parents and admit he was wrong.
